Fifth Fret Reviews

I love gear. I am an unabashed gear hoarder as well. It’s not so much me being unsatisfied or unappreciative with the gear I have or that the gear isn’t up to par, it’s just that there’s SO MUCH cool stuff out there that I want to try it all out. I want the experience and the tonal vocabulary. I want to explain that X sounds like this where Y sounds more like this, and this is what I hear and yadda yadda yadda. Because of this, ever since I started playing guitar I’ve been hanging out in guitar shops. For hours I would go in and try guitar after guitar, getting a feel for them, seeing what I like or don’t like and those tastes always seem to change so I always go back and see if I still like them or don’t like them. I’m certainly not above changing my mind later on. Neck carves, pickups, scale length, body widths and depths, tremolos, number of strings, tone woods, alternative materials, I will play them all in an effort to hone any sort of ear or personal taste.

Down the rows of amps, guitar and cord in hand, clicking through pedals, twisting knobs, and having fun.

Because this is really fun for me. I love playing guitar not only for the sheer fact that I can do something – have some sort of a skill – but there’s a huge chunk of love for playing the guitar that is dedicated to the perks: The community feel, the wide spectrum of players, sounds, tones, attitudes, and the wide variety of GEAR.

In a critical light, I can say that perhaps playing guitar is merely a means to the end of getting into this semi-exclusive world, but I know that’s not true. I love to play too much for that to be considered for too long.

But sometimes you end up living in a place that doesn’t have good guitar stores, or even a bad guitar store. Sometimes you have nothing to experience with your own ears, eyes and hands. That’s when you turn to the Internet and sure enough, that’s where I spend most of my Internet time. And since becoming a blogger I sometimes get the opportunity to review products. I review anything, from products I’ve bought to products companies have sent for me to review and then send back, to products traded for ad space (because gear is better than money as far as my blog goes and I warn the companies that my review won’t change regardless of whether the gear is “free” or not).

I think this is my favorite part of being a blogger.

Here is the list of all of the product reviews that have come up on the Fifth Fret starting with the newest.

I can say that this article is a real proof that blogging is a great pleasure for many people who are writing about their passions! With the help of a blog you can build a community around you, get in touch with many useful and interesting people, tell the world your opinion on everything you want and so on... Especially you have lots of things to say when you are blogging about guitar and everything related to it!

I wish you to continue writing your blog cause your articles are really useful to the online guitar community... Good Luck!
