Loxx Strap Locks Review

I have a Flatline Delta 90 and I love this guitar. It's comfortable, easy to play, it has an amazing range of tones from just switching pickup positions, and it's (very) easy on the eyes.

But.

It didn't come with strap locks. It did come with large strap buttons, but no locks to speak of. The act of putting on and taking off straps has actually led to a small ding or two which just breaks my heart.

Recently though, Loxx offered to send a set of strap locks my way and of course I took them up on the offer. They arrived and I thought it would be more complicated to install them (it was the key that looked like it would complicate things), but installation took less than five minutes for both strap locks.

You just unscrew the current strap button screw and screw in the Loxx strap screw. Helpful tip: an 11/32 socket will help get it in tight and keep it looking good!

Easy to follow instructions included inside.
This is how the whole unit looks before separation and installation.

This is how the pin looks once screwed into the guitar (the felt is mine)
Then pick your favorite strap and separate the two pieces dedicated to your strap and screw them together with your strap in the middle. (The key in the pictures is the tool used to take apart the strap pieces)

This is the strap part mostly unscrewed so you can see how the key works
How your strap looks when sandwiched between the two parts

Then it's just a matter of pushing one on to the other. When you want to take off the strap, you just pull the pin and you're released. It couldn't be easier.

I've had strap locks where you need to push buttons in the past and, while they were OK, sometimes it was difficult to get your guitar in a position where pushing a metal button in with your thumb would be easy, especially if you sling your guitar low. But with Loxx strap locks putting the strap on or taking the strap of is very easy and you can do it on the fly.

You can also set up all your guitars with the same kind of pins and only use one strap if you like. This is certainly appealing to me as I only have one leather (read: not slippery) strap in my possession.

Now, as I strap on my Flatline Delta 90, I do so with the added feeling of security that it won't fall away from me, risking huge amounts of damage, or even risk making small dings as I move (and stretch out) my favorite strap from guitar to guitar.

The strap locks can sustain up to 220 pounds of pull force which is more than you'll probably ever need, and cost about $20 for a set like mine on Amazon.

Have a guitar you love an don't want to risk it falling to floor? Invest in these and you'll be fine. I'm giving serious though to putting them on all of my guitars.

I use one strap with three guitars using Dunlop Dual Design strap locks on all my guitars and have never had a problem with taking the strap on/off.

Loxx look kewl and have a very smooth rounded shape which I find appealing. they also have an array of finishes to choose from. if I didn't already have dunlop's I would consider these.

That button design looks kinda familiar and upon trolling the Loxx website revealed they make latching systems for marine use, I've seen a similar product when my parents had boats. Interesting.... ow and does anyone know what the association with Schecter Guitars is?? does this mean that Schecter Guitars will now come with strap locks... I hope so...

No real association with Schecter, except that we're friends with some of the people in the company.

Glad you like them, and please let us know if you have any questions!

LOXX strap locks are the absolutely secret weapon in the strap lock market and i'm sure they will get soon as famous as the other ones from schaller and so on. i got them in chrome since 1/2 year and im very happy with it.

I looked up Loxx on Amazon UK and it found toilet roll holders :(

I'll look elsewhere as I want to get a nice strap and some locks for my guitar
